So meatball sliders... need I say more? These taste amazing. Perfect for game watching get-togethers or fun family dinners.
500g beef mince
3 tbsp aged parmesan
, finely grated
1 tbsp fresh basil, finely sliced
1 large egg
3/4 c fresh bread crumbs
Sea salt and pepperSUGO
1 tin tomatoes
1/2 onion, finely sliced
3 garlic cloves, finely sliced
1 tbsp caster sugar
3 tbsp Italian parsley
Sea salt and pepper
Fresh mozzarella, sliced thick
Slider buns, lightly toasted
For the meatballs, combine all the ingredients together. Roll into 10 balls.
Heat a small amount of oil in a large pan.
Fry meatballs until brown and juicy on the outside and just pink on the inside.
Remove, cover and set aside.
Keep the pan on the stove.
To make the sauce add all the ingredients in a blender. Blitz until lightly chunky.
Heat up the meatball fry pan, add the sauce and cook for 20 minutes or until the onion is cooked and the sauce has thickened.
Add the meatballs, cook for a further 5 minutes.
Place a piece of mozzarella on each meatball and allow to melt.
Now you just simple arrange. Be sure to serve the left over sauce for those who like making a mess.
